MY-PC 101

Why buy a "My Desktop PC"?

1. Motherboard: The main component that bridges the whole system together. This is done with a "Chip Set", a group of IC's that talk to the CPU, Memory, Data Storage, Sound and other devices attached to the motherboard.

To start with the motherboards we use are made to be truly PC compatible. They do have specific componets that must be used with them. We identify and only use those components in our system designs. The motherboards we use can be replaced if needed without having to use exactly the same board that came with the system. This can be a serious problem with a "Big Name" PC system that have a motherboard made specifically for and only there system.  Also trying to replace other components used with a "Big Name"motherboards is a potential problem too. We use motherboards that are retail versions and this allows them to be interchangeable and upgradeable.

When you buy a "Big Name" PC the motherboard has been engineered by them to allow for cheaper manufacturing. It's true, cutting corners will allow for a lower cost system, but at a cost of stability and reliability. There are allot of parts that go into a motherboard and using cheaper made parts to save cost, will in the long run cost you time and aggravations trying to keep your system up and running.

In our ready to build PC's, motherboards that have not only passed independent test and reviews but have been used in systems we use ourselves. In a custom built PC's we will use your preferred board as long as it passes a compatibility test and our rule (performance, stability and reliability). We stand behind our systems 100%, own one and call it "My Desktop PC
".

We use in our Basic and Home/Sm. Business PC's INTEL motherboards. Our Gamer PC's use ASUS motherboards. All of these motherboards use Chip Sets made by INTEL. We build user friendly so the BIOS is not locked out on our systems. This allows for users who are tech savvy and want the ability to tweak there systems to do so (at your own risk). ASUS motherboards and some INTEL come with software for user "Overclocking". We also recommend for custom built Gamer PC's, EVGA motherboards that use Nvidia chip sets. Nvidia Chip Sets allow the use of (2) video cards known as "SLI" technology. (see Video/Graphics Cards)

2. CPU: The brain of the system, and now we say "two heads are better then one". Would you believe four! The Dual CPU is the standard used in even the basic system we build. There are allot of cheaper version available, but we build for performance and customer satisfaction. Their is simply a starting point today with Vista and other programs that lack of performance means trouble. We want to save our customers the grief of "I should have bought a faster computer". That's part of the "Balance" we design for. We start building system with INTEL Dual Core CPU's and go only up from there. The DualCore is a chip with (2) cores on the same die. The next step up is the Core 2 Dual. The fun really starts here, this is a chip with (2) cores made as (1) core. The first Core 2 chips were named "Conroe" and are still some of the greatest CPU chips produced today. But not the smartest, we are now are using the Quad Core CPU's which are (2) Core 2's on the same die and we use them for our high end systems.
